Intel teased their new NUC today.
It is far larger than the Hades Canyon NUC, but it has room for a discrete GPU.
With two ethernet ports and a decent gpu, it could be a great ndi system.

Indeed. However, it still show their lack of imagination with respect to cooling solutions. It's become a lot like a standard micro/mini ITX platform. I wonder how much power the PSU delivers? Will it run a desirable GPU?

I still like my Airtop-PC for it's fanless heat-pipe design and dedicated GPU. I admit that it's more costly than a NUC, but also much more capable.

Quite interesting construction. With three m.2 slots you might be able to slip in a capture card as well.

Interesting option. From what I can see, there is actually both a PCI Express x16 and a PCI Express x4 slot available.

Meaning you can fit in both a single-slot graphics card as well as PCI Express x4 capture card like the Blackmagic Decklink Duo 2.

This might be the smallest and most capable system where you can actually do that.

M.2 slots for capture cards are not that interesting as they only allow inputs and not outputs.

However, if you don't need the capture card for SDI connectivity, I would second mjgraves recommendation for the Airtop-PC which is configurable all the way up to a Quadro RTX4000.

It turns out that the PSU delivers 500 watts.

The NUC is priced similarly to the Airtop-PC. It's in the $1500-1700 USD range as a barebones kit, without storage, memory or video card.

In theory, you could install an nVidia GPU and a PCIe capture card. That is, if you could find a suitable GPU that occupied one slot and was less than 8 inches long.

Might be easier to use an M.2 capture card and break out the connectors creatively. Would need to be Yuan to avoid heat issues.

mjgraves, last time I spoked with Yuan their M.2 options were input only with no option of outputting. This might still be the case.

If one would go the M.2 way for a capture card, I think this could just as well be done on the Airtop-PC?

If that is the case, I think the design of the Airtop-PC makes it a better option.

Mine was the first generation i7-5775C, GTX750Ti. It cost me around $1600 in fall of 2016.

Still going strong. No yet to the end of the 5-year warranty!

The new model is Gen3, way more powerful CPU/GPU and NVMe storage.

Just to curb your enthusiasm then stoke it a bit...

Nucs, including this one still use a Low power(laptop grade) cpu. The Ghost Canyon has a fatal flaw currently of sucking air through a 2mm slit between the cpu blowers housing and the back of the gpu card, this is not ideal and will cause thermal throttling if it doesn't hit a power throttling state first.

Now to stoke. This is a nuc so it has Thunderbolt 3 on it so connecting a PCIe box to this system would be a cakewalk to get more expansion. Yeah i know it doesn't keep it's small form factor when you add external boxes to it but, yeah.
