I want to display side-by-side video on a simple background for an interview. Is it better to use Virtual Set or Multiview for this, since either can achieve the goal?
Thanks!

A Virtual Set Input is essentially an elaborate or augmented MultiView Input, so it really depends on your personal preferences and/or overall needs, one is not really better than the other. If you prefer the additional features within the Virtual Set Input (such as easy set-up and multiple "camera zoom" views) then that is a good option for you. If on the other hand you are proficient at setting up your own custom MultiView Input(s), you may be able to be more creative with your set-up (such as using Motion Backgrounds for example)

Ice I produce talk shows with both host and guest(s) coming in remotely via vMix Call and appearing side-by-side in graphic frames. I've been using Multi View and now I'm experimenting with adding some drop shadows to the .png transparent frames that surround the host and guest (using vMix GT Designer -- easy) to give the frame some dimension, and I'm also exploring adding a simple video background that will surround the frames just to add a touch of motion. I found on Shutterstock.com an inexpensive ($79) package of about 100 stock video background elements that can be looped and I was playing around with adjusting the colors of some of those backgrounds using the color adjustment tool in vMix so that I can try to complement (as closely as possible) the colors of my client's logo/brand colors with the stock footage when using it as a background and so that it complements the color scheme I used to create the .png frames. Then I play around with the position of the footage in vMix (rotate it and/or zoom in to a particular area to make it soft and not distracting). Most of the elements in the stock package are too busy for my needs but there are a few in there that are abstract and simple enough that I think I can make work. Here's the link in case of interest: https://www.shutterstock...canvas-video-backgrounds
