I use a VGA2USB capture device for a screen-grab from a presenter's laptop running PowerPoint. As long as the presenter's laptop is powered on before I launch vMix, vMix can detect the VGA2USB device. However, if vMix is launched before the PowerPoint laptop has started up, I get the following error and the capture device in vMix is lost:

"The following inputs could not be loaded:
4: Capture: There was no match for the specified key in the index."

The text area of the error box simply says "OpenPreset".

I am not aware if this is a bug or a 'feature', but would it be possible to change this so that if the capture device is not detected (as no signal is coming through to the input), that the capture device is not removed from the vMix profile, but rather kept but just shows as a black input device? This way, when the presenter powers on their laptop at a later stage, I can just reset the capture (right-click reset) and it would then obtain the input being sent over the VGA2USB device.

I am not able to just ensure that the PowerPoint laptop is powered on first, as it is not always used or even present. Sometimes vMix has to be configured and streaming before the presenter laptop is even powered on.

I hope this makes sense.

vMix version: 11.0.0.63 x64
OS: Windows 7

Thanks.
