Hi, I'm trying to connect a 1st Gen Scarlett 18i8 to my vMix box, but have been having myriad issues with it. Sometimes the mic output won't work. Sometimes a mix minus can't work.
Sometimes the Scarlett randomly disconnects. Sometimes the Scarlett MixControl app freezes up. It has lacked a solid 30 consecutive minutes without some issue popping up.

Is there some hardware out there that works more consistently? My PC is pretty solid, and I've not had any hardware issues like this with vMix in the past.

Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated.

The vMix Fun Time Live Show uses the Behringer U-Phoria UMC404HD USB Audio Interface and I've not had any problems with it.

+1 for the UMC404HD. I've been using mine for several years with no problems.

Just remember to plus in your USB connection before starting vMix.

I use a USB mixing console Yamaha AG06, with built in mix minus ability and it never fails once in vMix or other software. It also powered by single USB cable which made my setup is so easy

USB sound mixers are best for eliminating line noise.

Be wary of the UA Apollo Twin X Thunderbolt. It’s taken days to try to resolve an issue that sounds like an audio rate mismatch (it isn’t). Finally the unit had to go back to the distributors (they couldn’t solve the problem either). Something between vMix and that Apollo wasn’t playing nicely.

My 2i2 did the same thing. Ended up needing a new PC. After that it worked just fine.
