Hi all,

just after a little guidance...

I am looking to build a new vMix system in order to use for some evening events. It is to be housed within a trolley/mobile flight case. Does anyone have any suggestions as to PCI capture cards with SDI and HDMI inputs? Or would you go external USB capture devices?

I'm really after stability

Many thanks

I would always start by going for internal PCIe cards and leave your USB3 ports free in case you have a need to connect something extra on some occasions. I don't know of any multi-input capture cards with a selection of HDMI and SDI ports - it tends to be either/or. If you have a M/B with a spare M.2 slot, then you could house one capture device there (eg. Magewell or Yuan 4Ch SDI inputs) and put another capture device in a PCIe slot (eg. dual/quad HDMI). If you're looking for rackmount PCs in the UK (and not building it yourself), then have a look at G2 Digital who build custom 2U, 3U & 4U rackmounts with suitable slots.
