I've installed vMix 22.0.0.67 trial on Win10 Home 64 bit.
When I click on the vmix logo in the taskbar there is also a command box called c:\Program Files (x86)\Vmix\Vmix.exe
Why is that?
When I close it vMix will be close without prompting.
This only happens when I start vMix with a preset.
Is this normal behaviour?

Why not update first (currently 22.0.0.69)

I've got version 69 now, no difference.
I double click on the preset (with .vmix extension) file.

did you have another installation of vMix before , same or other folder ? what if you start vmix strait from its own folder ? Whats the link behind the logo on the taskbar ?
first you said it happened when you started from the taskbar , then when starting from a preset. What is it ?

Problem solved.
When I make a shortcut to the preset file there is no command box.
(starting the preset file itself launch the command box)

It only happens when double clicking a preset file on the desktop.

I have had a similar issue with a shortcut, so I created another shortcut, and this worked, but I had some other weird experiences when using the new vmix preset as my shortcut. Maybe if the preset isn't in the vmix folder, not sure, but it has been seen to start up with all the original settings, instead of my global settings.
I have found that editing the vmix icon that is installed by default, and adding the vmix preset onto the command line seems to start up vmix with its preset, but I would like to know that this is an acceptable method. (A question for the support team I think) =========== Response from Support question is that this command box is normal, but just hidden when vMix is started directly, and preset opened later separately. I am not convinced, as things should be consistent.
