I cannot get the audio from my camcorder to come into VMix. I have watched the tutorial and tried to add an audio input selecting my camera as the source and I get this message
insufficient system resources exist to complete the requested service

What am I doing wrong?

Thank you

I don't have an answer, but have you tried using another audio input? The error happens when windows is trying to find files or has run out of memory.

It's hard to know without seeing your screen as you're doing it, but I'd start with the camcorder. What model, and what sort of output does it have? (eg HDMI)

Usually, the audio is embedded with the video so they both come into the computer together. Certainly this is generally the case if you have a camcorder with HDMI or SDI which is connected to an internal capture card or external USB capture device. In that case the vMix "Camera" input already has the audio for the camera, but you may need to click the Audio button for that input before the audio is enabled in the Audio Mixer panel.

When the Camera input includes the audio that accompanies the video, both coming via the same capture device, then you can't add a second instance of that audio as a separate Audio Input (and you will get an error).

More information is needed in order to give a better answer.

Thank you so much for your advice. The recorders do not appear to be the problem as I can wire around VMix and the audio works.

In VMix, the Audio bottom on the video input cannot be checked on to green - it is grey all the time so it would appear that VMix is not receiving any audio input but the camera video output is functioning.

I am using a capture device from the camera to my laptop to a USB then out of the laptop through the HDMI port.

Can you elaborate on this section, please.

1) What is the camera?
2) What output connection are you using from the camera?
3) What is the capture device you are using?

Also, could you include a screen-grab like this one, to show how your capture device appears when adding the Camera input?
