Not sure what I'm doing wrong but I can seem to get the Virtual PTZ to work on 22.0.0.68 4K version. I go to the PTZ menu, select Virtual PTZ, connect to the source but nothing seems to affect the source.

Any thoughts?

What's the input type? With some I think you may have to make a virtual input from it and then apply the Virtual PTZ controls to the virtual version.

I tried that already but it doesn't work either.

My understanding is that the virtual PTZ controls should be available on the main source with the ability to update the various Virtual Inputs

I'm now on 22.0.0.69 and it seems to be working but it's a different computer so I don't know if it was a bug that was fixed or a computer specific issue.

Does not work for me with an Image Input. I am also on 22.0.0.69, tried two different PCs. PTZ-controlling a NDI PTZ Optics cam works just fine.
EDIT: Tried both the buttons in vMix and with an Xbox controller, neither works for the Image Input, but does for NDI cam.

I thought it was for an Image Input that I had to create a Virtual Input version of it, and then use the PTZ controls in that input module.

thanks zenvideo, but of course I have tried that - since you mentioned it earlier ;)
In any case, the Help states "Turns any input into a virtual Pan Tilt and Zoom controller"

Hi Richard,

I can confirm an Image input works fine with Virtual PTZ.
Note that you will need to zoom in with the PTZ first before pan/tilt will work, as there is no room
for the image to move if it is left at 100%.

That is the only reason I can think of as to why the Image input may not appear to work.

For the Photos input, you will need to create a virtual input from it in order to enable Virtual PTZ
as that particular input has transitions etc which override the virtual PTZ directly on that input.

Regards,

Martin

Hi Martin,

I have tried zooming in (and out) first. Both in the PTZ control window and in the Input's Position Main setting. As well as tried with a 4K image in a 720 production. Does not help. Here are my steps:
1. Add an Image Input
2. Input settings, PTZ, Select device type Virtual PTZ, Zoom 10x, Connect
3. Drag the Zoom slider up, image unaffected when I drag the slide, leave it at 75% up.
4. Click the arrows, nothing happens

If we get this solved, I think the requirement to zoom in first would be a problem for us. We have two use cases, with a similar need. That is, to move a fixed region of interest (ROG). Let me explain:

We sometimes add a sign interpreter as a box in the production. The box (our ROG) is a cropped part (standing rectangular) from the camera. The interpreters sometimes forget to stay on the cross (mark in the flooe where they should be), and the vary in height. It is very cumbersome to adjust for this in the Multiview overlay position settings. Ideal would be to PTZ the camera Input, thus moving the content in the ROG.

Thanks.

/richard

+/- buttons did the trick doggy - thanks!
guess it's a slider bug...

And I'll file a feature reqeust for being able to move without zooming in first. And in my humble view that should be possible if the source (image/camera/video/etc) is larger than the production resolution.

The sliders are for setting the zoom/moving speed.
