Basic Interoperable Scrambling System... I have bid an event and they are requiring an encrypted stream to be sent. They want “BISS” encryption and it’s new to me. I’m waiting to hear back from someone regarding the implementation (and it may be further up stream, and not on my end).

Just curious if anyone has knowledge of this and if necessary are there any options within VMix to accommodate this.

Seems they want you to send via satellite

There are no BISS options for Vmix. You would need to send to an encoder that would be able to BISS encrypt the stream and then transmit that way. Most likely you would have to take the output of Vmix into the input of an encoder, encrypt, and then have the encoder output in multicast to the end destination. Not hard if you have the correct equipment.

Thanks for the reply guys. I’m still waiting to speak to the tech about what exactly they are looking for.

It would make sense that it’s a satellite stream but I think I will bow out if that’s the case. I’ll post an update when I know more.
