Thanks: 4 times
I've got a 3 camera setup.
Cam 1 and 3 are PTZ. Cam 2 is a wide shot.
There are 5 people on a round-table talk show.
So I typically setup inputs for Camera 1 to do close on person A, B, and C. Then a wider shot of all three.
Camera 3 has inputs for close ups on person D, and E, and a wide shot of 4 and 5 together.

So I have "8" shots, 4 inputs on Camera 1, Camera 2, and 3 inputs for Camera 3.

IDEALLY-- I'd love to set those inputs to queue up the camera at the proper input in the preview window... but this doesn't work if I'm already active on that camera. I don't want the motion to go out live.

So if I'm tight on person D, and E starts to talk, I drop back to camera 2, the wide shot of the whole room, recompose camera 3 to a closeup of E, and then cut back to 3.
I don't want to ACCIDENTALLY execute the input change on camera 3 while it's active. So I want my inputs to switch ONLY if that camera isn't active. And otherwise to do nothing.

I could set numbers 1-5 to set the input of the appropriate camera in the preview window UNLESS the camera is active. Keys 6 & 7 could be my wider shots. 8 would just put camera 2 in preview. Then I hit spacebar to quickplay the preview window.

Man- I hope I explained that correctly.
