My son has a gaming channel, and recently started using his phone for mobile gaming videos. When filming in 1920x1080 the phone only takes up part of the screen, so there is a lot of blank space. I told him he could use a backdrop, but he wanted the look of the dead space being a blurred version of his phone, with the phone still being sharp in the middle (which is an effect we've used in post production before). The only issue is we can't clip the video in post to have the right aspect ratio to then blur. So we need to either figure out how to blur the background to show the cellphone, or film in an aspect ratio that is perfect for his phone, so we can then upload that footage to WeVideo for him to edit. I'm not sure if this makes sense, but if anyone has any ideas, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

While vMix can not blur maybe you could duplicate (virtual input) the cellphone image a few times, have them stretched so they fill up the whole screen , make each transparent quite a bit and have multiple of them as multiview with each one slightly offset from the other in different directions. put the original on top of that. Maybe? even play with color settings or crop and re-position etc

Image background is 3 virtual layers stretched ,each with alpha 40, and slightly offset (horizontal and vertical) from one another
