Hello everyone,

I'm new at this forum, but a enthusiastic user of Vmix.
Now i've an issue with the audio.

When playing audio trough Vmix, it gives a hick up or a jitter.
This happens sometimes in the audio. Today i've been testing different things.
My conclusion is that when i'm opening Vmix and let the audio play trough vmix i'v got te hicks.

When i'm playing the audio trough the audiocard -with vmix closed- there is no problem.
Also i've installed another version of vmix (10), but there also the same problem. Also happening in both versions: x64 and normal.

Besides that, when i'm starting the recording or streaming, it happens more.
But also without any processor insensitive proces it happens.

My system:
i7 2600K 3.4GHZ
8 GB Memory
NVidia 7950GT
M-Audio 2496

I placed a video on youtube where you can listen at this (just play a few minutes somewhere to recognize)

Below the settings i've used from the recording file.
I'll hope that anyone can help me with this issue.

Hi,

Do you know why the video format has been set to RGB32? That would cause a definite reduction in performance.
Change it to UYVY again in vMix Settings under the Performance tab.

Also, your CPU may not be capable of recording to H264 at 50fps, so try recording at 25fps instead.

Regards,

Martin

Hello Martin,

Thank you for your reaction.
When changing it to UYVY the audio doesn't get better. I just choose RBG32 because the other options gives a green line at the left of the player (see image).
The green line comes in at the internal output (for live streaming) as output to an external card. I have read about this green line that all the settings must be the same.
In my opinion everything is the same, 720p, 1280x720 resolution.

Recording i have changed. but the sound has also hick without recording.
So, at this moment, changing the Output Format, didn't help.

Remarkable are the dropped frames of 105381. I don't now what it means, but i have another recording, without the audio hicks and that one has 57 dropped frames.
All other settings are the same.

Have you other suggestions?

Regards,

Alfred

Hi,

I've just noticed the graphics card you are using is very old and will likely need to be upgraded.
You can tell if the problem is the graphics card by looking at the Render Time in vMix. If this is over 20ms you will
need to upgrade.

The green bar is likely caused by the graphics card too.

Martin

Hello Martin,

Thank you for your reaction.
When the hickup start, the render time is about 17ms, sometimes less, sometimes more.
Normally operating it is at 6,7 ms, sometimes higher. Just see 28ms at an hickup.

Is there an videocard you can recommend (one pci slot? )

Hi Martin,

Thank you very much for your advice.
I replaced the GT7950 and installed now a Geforce GT 630 1GB, Single Slot.

I don't have the audio hicks/jitter and the green line is also gone.
With the GT7950 i had also issues with audio delay (about 2-4 frames), that issue is now also gone!

Again, thank you very much.

Alfred
