When can 8K output be supportedNow the demand for 8K is increasing. Can you change the output to 8K?
Now graphics cards can be mosaic output, such as AMD7100 graphics cards, three mididps can be mosaic output maximum resolution: 12288X2160, if the vmix output can automatically match to the graphics card output resolution 12288X2160 how good! I hope you can consider this suggestion, so that the application of vmix software will be more and better! Thank you!

Honestly, 8K live streaming is a niche for the next years. Who is able and ready for 8K consumption these days. Bandwidth, codec and display are the challenges that need bigger adoption to allow for 8K streaming.

I think the current use for 8K is for Regions of Interest. That is, take an 8K input and use vmix to create multiple virtual 1080p inputs from various regions of the 8K.

So ingesting and processing 8K is a +1 for me.

Where "demand for 8K is increasing" translates to "is-now-greater-than-zero."

It would be a pity if it was only used in live TV. Its application should be all-round. We are looking forward to such a change. In fact, it is not very difficult to make such a change, as long as the output resolution is not limited. Thank you!

Barny, this is about 8K output not 8K input. Honestly I don't see much need for 8K streaming these days.

well it's a start, 8k input 720p multicam output :p
(to be fair that's all they did with 4k creating additional cropped shots)

I agree. 8K input capabilities could be interesting once the hardware is more commonly available at a price point that users can afford. I don't see it these days, honestly. 4K is widely available in cam and capture. And vMix supports 4k workflow.

also I think 4k is the limit for consumer for a good while, yes they might do 8k but most rooms aren't big enough in peoples houses to actually appreciate it, I swear there's some sort of ratio for how far back you would sit

Hi there,

8k output would be great!
I read in the responses about "whats the use for 8k streaming"and "having displays big enough for 8k", but that's not the point.
8k would be great to output video to LED walls in large venues. (Yes, people also use Vmix for other things than streaming media content. lol)
I would put my nvidea card in mosiac mode and create a single 7680 x 2160 pixels virtual screen (which is still half the height of 8k) divided over two 4k displayport outputs and let Vmix compete with players like Resolume and Milumin.

So yes, if Vmix wants to be on the forefront of developement, it should look into 8k yesterday.

regards,
Gert

+1

8K Output would enable a much wider field of use especially for events with LED Walls. For most walls anything bigger than 10m wide is more than 4K pixels.

For streaming I would also not see the big need for 8K Streaming yet, but VMix is also used for a lot more than just streaming!

On the Input side I would say 4K Inputs are probably ok so far. At least for me 8K Output would be more useful and needed than 8K Input.

+1

The major benefit of 8K, from my perspective, is that it allows for 4 4K or 16 1080p on a single output without sacrificing resolution.

This makes for a great workaround for the resource limitations of a 4 output vMix.

It's not so much about 8K resolution inputs, but an 8K canvas for output.

As 4K cameras become more popular, the ability to get more of them on a single output becomes more valuable.

That, to me, is the major benefit of an 8K vMix in a 4K production.
