I've recently picked up a Novation Mk1 and followed Tims video on using it as a remote trigger for events.

However I'm slightly confused over how best to use Events and Activators.

What I want to do is trigger a cut to a camera (Yup I can do that)
Then delay for 5 seconds (I can't seem to do that)
Then trigger a simple overlay (I can do that - but missing the delay above)

Simple stuff I thought,

When I go to Activators I would like the pad to be normally green and then go red when I hit the button and stay red.

However I notice the Activators also trigger events, whereas I thought they were mainly for controlling the colours etc on the Novation or XKeys or whatever.

Sorry if I'm bering stupid here, but I've watched all of Tims videos relating to the subject and I can't find any deeper explanation anywhere on how best to achieve the above.

Any tips folks?

Many thanks

Still hunting for a more comprehensive guide to triggering events, delays and some of the cool things everyone says you can do, but never quite explains 'how' you can do it :)

Any pointers folks?

Mucho appreciated.

Thank you.

The LEDs don't seem to perform in the Novation MK1 as I had hoped.

I had them working before but they are not lighting up now.

However I've now got the title to delay appearing for 5 seconds. Now I want to it to automatically depart after 3 seconds.

I can't seem to find the correct instruction to do this?

However I can't find the trigger to remove the title after a few seconds.

Help anyone please :)

@ Podcast Bob

There are two ways to achieve this.
1. Put a duration on the actual Overlay channel being used. (Overlay settings button at lower right)
2. Use the Trigger "OnOverlayIn" with the function "OverlayInputxOut" (where x is the Overlay being used) and a delay of 3000 ms.
