I have been using vmix a long time and I would love to use the AVI format provided, it sounds really good in description, but in practice, when I try to use it in any playback or editing system, it never seems to work. I've reinstalled the program, which gets me a working AVI codec in premiere and QT for a while then it just stops working. Not sure why. There's no separate installer, or checker, there's not really any way to troubleshoot the codec or reinstall it without uninstalling the entire suite, so I just don't bother. I'd love to see this mature and work better but so long as I can't get it to work consistently it doesn't make much sense. Usually I just revert to mp4 which isn't the best.
