I installed Kaspersky security software recently and, the next day, had a gig using vMix. The camera connected to vMix via a Magewell capture device to start with but 10 minutes before going live the camera feed dropped out of vMix.

Two reboots later and still no video feed, so we switched to OBS for the day.

Tried a bunch of things and then remembered installing Kaspersky the day before the video crash and wondered if there was a software conflict.

Uninstalled all elements of Kaspersky and baa-da-boom, baa-da-bing ... the camera feed is back.

Anyone else experience this and anyone have ideas about how to get Kaspersky to work with vMix? Otherwise I'll go back to using the McAfee software that came with the laptop but which expired!

3rd party antivirus can do all sorts of strange things, some even have features that block cameras in certain applications but not others.

We recommend uninstalling all 3rd party scanners and sticking with Windows Defender which is more than adequate to protect a system.
