Is it possible to record an incoming hd feed with one set of hardware and software and playback that recorded feed through vmix with a few minutes delay?

We are presently accomplishing this task via a consumer DVR, but we want to play other content to the same screen, and we want better quality than the DVR affords us as well as a more straightforward interface.

Any ideas?
