Hi,

Setup is:
Ryzen 2700, 16GB RAM, 512 SSD and Vega64 Strix GPU.

I have two feeds. The game (Quake Champions) and a camera using a avermedia live gamer HD2.

When I capture the desktop with NDI to send the game to vMix, it is unplayable. Even before I hit the stream button.

It is definitively something related to the way I'm trying to do it in Vmix.

The proof is that when I use Radeon Relive, I can play perfectly and stream simultaneously with the exact same hardware. But I do like the overlays, vmix social, more control on the scene, etc.

Hope you can give some advice.

Best regards,
Salvador

Are you using a production PC to run vmix or is it running on the same rig?

If its the latter the main issue here is that you're taxing your system too much.
Basically youre doing 3 things:

Run a game at 144hz (lets assume 1080p) - Graphics card
Convert a game into NDI - graphics card
Run Vmix - graphics card

Typically running a game at 144hz, without any FPS limiter assigned, will max out any available GPU resources. Meaning theres none left for the other two.
In case of a production PC. You might have this as an issue with NDI scan converter (assuming youre using this) sharing resources with the game thats trying to max out FPS on the GPU.

Radeon Relive is optimised to encode a stream from your GPU output right to the web.

vMix itself indicates CPU and GPU usage, so you should be able to tell if the system is being overtaxed.

Since the AMD GPU does not have NVENC, vMix must encode using the CPU. vMix recommends nVidia GPUs for their ability to perform encoding in hardware.

Thanks for the reply.

Indeed it is 1080p and single rig.

I could not capture the game with vMix desktop capture NDI unless the game was configured "Borderless/Windowed so I had to use Newtek NDI tools.

I will test limiting the frames to 144, lower the quality if needed and then test again with the resources left.

Post you back.

Hi,

I can report that it still does not work. Left capacity on the GPU to do all the tasks.

I cannot confirm what is exactly the problem, but the symptoms are the exactly the same.

I am having tons of problems for capturing the game.

Best regards,
Salvador

Hi, i think best way can be use magewell pro convert hdmi 4k from vega64 hdmi output.

You can change fps on the magewell to half or 1/4.

Regards

Jose.
