I have vMix and FMLE running on the same laptop and FMLE is sending the stream to a server running Red5. This seems to work ok and the computer rarely spikes above 50%. Student will eventually start running things and in order to remove some complexity I was looking to see if there was a way to move FMLE to the same server running Red5. That would leave only vMix running on the laptop. My ultimate hope is to leave FMLE on all the time sending a stream to Red 5 regardless of it receiving a stream from vMix. I don't know if there is some sort of network based external outputs that would accomplish this. I hope I am making sense.

Thanks,

Mat

maybe you could record to streaming wmv and pickup the stream on the network and capture in fmle on the second machine directly or running a basic vmix hd version on it. i don t know if fmle would be capable of receiving the stream but vmix would and could stream to fmle onthat machine.

is that an idea?

greetings, stefan

Did you find a working solution?

Is there a way to do this without using extra (expensive) hardware on the FMLE computer?

Run an HDMI cable from your production computer's graphics card to the server and set vMix to output the fullscreen to that display. Install a capture card on the server to ingest the signal. In FMLE choose that source as video and adio input. On the RTMP URL in FMLE reference 127.0.0.1 (localhost).

Isn't it possible with a pure software based solution?
Can vMix stream the output to the server with vMix installed?
