Hello I am thrilled, excited and delighted that virtual PTZ has been added to Version 22. (Perhaps because of my Feature Request.) There are zillions of usb joysticks out there. I have ordered, and hopefully will receive by Friday, the XKeys joystick. It is not inexpensive but I am hoping I can use the buttons for some presets. X-keys Three Axis USB Precision Joystick (12 Keys, XK-12 Joy. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00DHOL3M0/I will report back here the results. I assume it will work perfectly. Rowby

Okay. I almost have my Xkeys Joystick working in vMix22 Preview/Beta release [I posted this issue on the General vMix 22 forum but no answer there to this specific issue -- so I thought I'd post it in this more appropriate forum....] I still can't get my Zoom in and out to work with the Joystick. Right and Left and Tilt work fine with the template. But no luck so far with zoom in and out. Any suggestions on what I need to do to get Virtual PTZ Zoom in and Out to work with vMix 22? Link to YouTube video with PTZ working ALMOST perfectly (no zoom working yet....) Here's a video of how it's working so far. Pan and Tilt is working fine in the video. But twisting the joystick does not give me a zoom in and out... Link to video of Virtual PTZ working -- except for zoom....Also look at these settings.... resourceccccccc.png (139kb) downloaded 3 time(s).Rowby

Hello everybody
Well from what I am finding out it looks like the X-keys joystick is not going to work with the new virtual PTZ feature in vMix22.
I can get Pan and Tilt to work — but Zoom in and out apparently is not possible with the Xkeys joystick in vMix. So it looks like I will be returning it.
Can anyone recommend a USB PTZ joystick that will in fact do PT AND Zoom in vMix? I prefer to buy from Amazon. But I guess Ebay will do....
I must say I like the compact boxy form factor of the X keys joystick — rather than the “Game-y” oversize look of an Xbox Controller...
Thanks for any suggestions...
...Rowby.

Built this from an old no name gamepad and the Elgato Stream Deck, just to look if something like that will work.. It works, so the next one will be realized with an arduino board and some additional hotkeys. Greets Martin

Hi, i am not sure if i am able to realize an Arduino-controller, so i don´t know if something like that will work. The test-device i´ve built, is based on a game-bad, so i have decided to use a ready-built USB joystick-encoder and a xyz-axis joystick i have ordered at amazon. Now waiting for delivery , but i think in 2 weeks i can start the new project. Greets Martin

Thanks Rowby

Confirmed by X-Keys support that their joysticks are currently not compatible with vMix. So I’ll be returning it. To bad. I liked the size and the way the joystick is handled — but no zoom. 😢
FROM XKeys support: Unfortunately there is no workaround the for that zoom on our joystick, we are working on an updated design that will but that unit will not be available for some time yet. If you’d like to return the unit and you purchased it directly from us send me your invoice and I’ll get that return started for you (we have a 30 day return period and the clock was paused on the date of your first email to us). If you did not purchase it directly form us please return it to whomever you bought it from.

Thanks Rowby Hi, i ordered different encoders and joysticks so i don´t know yet witch configuration will work. If i find a working configuration, i will send you the links and the modification procedure. Greets Martin

Hello Everybody, After seeing Paul Richards and Tess demo an Xbox controller for the PTZOpitics camera I decided to get an Xbox controller. In the video Paul really enjoyed using the controller. This is the one I ordered from amazon. Wired Gaming Controller, EasySMX PC Game Controller Joystick with Dual-Vibration Turbo and Trigger Buttons for Windows/Android/ PS3/ TV Box (Gray) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06XBX1R55/r I should have it on Tuesday and I will report the results. Hello
The Xbox controller that I mentioned in my previous post seems to be working fine. I bought it from Amazon and it was about $16. Zoom works great.
Now playing around to try to set the speed feature added in the most recentl update ov vMix22
