Config:

- Source camera is outputting 720x1280 (narrow/tall) h.264
- Stream input (RTSP via TCP)
- Input setting shows 720x1280 resolution, "normal" source aspect ratio, and "normal" aspect ratio

vMix is stretching the input to be square, rather than retaining the original dimensions/ratios. So the input is 1280x1280 and no longer proportional. I've tried all the input settings that might have an impact (aspect ratio, position, etc.) and nothing helps. There doesn't appear to be any sizing options in input settings.

Can vMix only accept inputs that are square? If not, any thoughts on how to correct this problem?

Thanks.

I'm still not sure why vMix is changing the dimensions of the input source, but I found a solution, which I'm posting in case anyone else encounters this. In Input Settings > Position, adjust the Zoom X or Zoom Y to the correct ratio. In my case, I had to set Zoom X to 0.4375.

Double click on the input.

At aspect ratio choose widescreen. Could be a solution to your problem.

Aspect ratio makes no difference, but thanks for the idea.

It appears that vMix assumes square dimensions for Stream inputs, maybe all inputs. However, if I create an input and add the Stream as a MultiView input, vMix seems to auto-select the appropriate X or Y scaling factor. I haven't quite figured out the consistency to it yet, but will post if I can determine it.
