Is it Your solution?
If so, two suggestions: - make it wireless (for example based on wifi) - provide some batteries (3-4 hours, hot-swap)

Hi Jet,
Thanks for the post. I am very impressed. I have been looking for a low cost multi-camera comms (intercom) system for a long time. One that camera operators and replay person can here instruction from the director. I will watch your progress with a lot of interest and will most likely be your first customer :)
We film live sports games for a variety of clients. This will add huge value to our team and productions.
Thanks for sharing, Bryan

Curious to know if intercom is two-way (bi-directional) and dual channel (program out + control room/director)?

All camera men and director will hear each other and all are able to speak at the same time. Kind regards, Jan Tervo Tally+Intercom Solution: http://kuvauskomeetta.fi/ti/

What about program audio, as in a play-by-play announcer or program host, will the camera crew be able to hear that as well?

Ice Hi Ice! I think Y-adapter could be used to input director head set mic audio and program audio from audio mixer (at low audio level) simultaneously. Kind regards, Jan Tervo Tally+Intercom Solution: http://kuvauskomeetta.fi/ti/

Hi Jet,
How will this unit connect cameraman that are say 100m away from director? We will be looking to use SDI cable to connect camera to vMix PC. Can we still use this unit?
Cheers Bryan

Cheers Bryan Hi Bryan! At least the Tally Light portion should work just fine with that distance. Intercom portion has now been tested with a 45m cable and there is increase in hiss, but should still be usable. The connection is made with normal RJ45 cable. Kind regards, J. Tervo

Hi Jet,
Thanks for reply. Does that mean I have to run two separate cables? One RJ45 cable (for tally & Intercom) and one SDI cable for Video & Audio over long distances? We do 4 camera shoots of sports fields (soccer field, Rugby field, hockey which means some of the cameras are up to 100 meters away. This is a common set up for us. No real short runs.
Do you think we can still us your kit?
Cheers Bryan

Hi Bryan! Yes that's correct: 2 separate cables are required per camera if SDI is used. HighViewSport wrote: ... cameras are up to 100 meters away. This is a common set up for us. No real short runs. Do you think we can still us your kit?
Well, I have to test that by my self before I can promise that it works well enough with real long cables. I really hope it does. Kind regards, Jan Tervo
