BirdDog introduced Comms software so looks like its possible to send audio from some source to the BirdDog Studio or Mini.

But it would be cool if I could use vMix to send audio to BirdDog encoder, not to run additional BirDog Comms app.

Introduced but not actually released, as of writing this. Once I get to play with it I'll be interested to see what 3rd party interaction is possible.

It should be possible. Once I asked about sending audio from vMix to BirdDog and Eamon Drew answered: "That's really a question for vMix"
