I've been trying to solve this issue for awhile.

When I add a Web Browser input in vMix, it never has audio. There are no audio bars at all. No blur or green. It's like adding an image input.

I have updated chrome and looked at default audio device.

Not sure where to go from here.

PC: Alienware R15 R2. Has GTX 1070, i7 CPU.

Hi Nick,

Due to how Chrome handles audio, there will be no audio if there is no speakers or headphones plugged into the laptop.
The video shows the speaker icon with a red x, which is why the browser input won't show any audio.

I have since closed vMix, plugged in headphones and ensured the speaker icon did not have a red X. Speaker icon is set to speakers / headphones.

Web browser still does not show an audio source.

What should I do next?

Have you run the vMix Diagnostic tool?
Windows Start Menu ===> vMix Folder ===> vMix Diagnostics
A quick scan of your system will show potential problem programs that may be interfering with Audio as well as showing potential background applications that could cause GPU issues.
(like Sonic or Nahimic on ASUS and MSI laptops)

Something audio related popped up. Not sure how to try to fix it though.

Do you have any more advice? The web browser input is still not providing audio.

Make sure latest sound card drivers are installed.
Alternatively go to the Windows add/remove apps control panel and remove any 3rd party sound software you don't need.

Also you can run vMix Desktop Capture to see if it shows any errors when connecting to it.
(It uses a similar audio capture mechanism as the web browser).

On some rare laptops I have seen some sound cards simply not work correctly with the web browser
due to 3rd party addons included with the sound driver mixing things up.
(Such as "3d sound" or "virtual surround" type applications).

I have tried all that you suggested and it still will not work. This is really disappointing. At this stage all I can say is that the Alienware 15 r2 in not compatible with audio support for the Web browser input.

I wish there was something I could do to resolve this.

If you happen to have a USB external audio device available you might try it to see if it will work, set as your Windows default audio device.

If you don't mind my asking, what is AWSoundCenter?
I suspect that might be the root of your issue.

GForce experience has long been known to cause issues with vMix. It's not necessary and should be removed.

If all else fails, drop us an email to schedule a TeamViewer session so we can investigate further.
We are at IBC at the moment, but should be able to investigate in a week or so.

Since at least one week, I have the exact same issue here. Tried all of the above, nothing works. It's very strange since for almost a year now I never experienced this issue. Web browser inputs always had audio before. It just stopped overnight. Does vMix have any fix?

UPDATE: This issue definitely has to do with the output (headphones/speakers). I tried unplugging the headphone jack manually which gave audio from the channel - unfortunately not controllable from the vMix channel, but instead it sends the audio signal directly to the Windows output channel. Will update as soon as I got this figured out.
