Hello,

Question here: Does it help vmix performance or make a difference if we crop our graphics(Videos and images) being used. For example. Lower thirds and tickers and graphics that lie over top of videos as overlays with alpha channels.

Should I be cropping these to the size they are or keep them at the size of the full frame i.e. 1920x1080? Doing the full size of the frame leaves larger areas of just alpha. Does this cause more computing power or not? Trying to make it as efficient as possible.

Also, if the answer is to crop the graphics. Is there a way to bring in cropped graphics where Vmix does not scale them to fit the entire size of the frame? For example I'll crop a ticker movie graphic that will be overlaid down to 60x1920. When I bring it into Vmix it scales the graphics to fit 1920x1080 so I have to then go back in and scale on the y to get it to look how it should. Any way to avoid this?

Thanks Vmix community! Best to you all. If there is a post that already addresses this, please forward me there and apologies for bringing it up again.

-Andrew

Always keep your graphics at the same resolution as your project. Don't crop

+1

That makes correct placement sooo much more reliable.

You can always use the built-in crop function if you need to.
