I recently switched my VMix setup to exclude my mixing board as I wanted VMix to handle all audio. WHen I open an audio input for the microphone I get a slight delay in my headset that is enough to be distracting when I talk. This never happened when I was using a mixing board. This happens whether or not I use a USB mic, or one plugged into the the mic jack on the computer itself. This even happens when my VMix setup is only that one mic input. Tried using the millisecond control but it doesn't do the trick.
Would like to stay without the mixing board because my mixing board setup is very complicated and doesn't work well with VMIXCALL. Please help. Very annoying.

A slight delay is inevitable with audio processing software, which is why some USB audio interfaces have a built-in monitor mixer. With a Tascam 16x08 USB audio interface I can listen to a mix of the mic input to that unit (with zero delay) and the headphone output mix from vMix (in which the mic input is muted), meaning I hear all the sources in vMix, but the mic input isn't being routed through vMix.

I have a Mackie Pro FX12 mixer. Can you guide me through the setup? Do you think I need to purchase an audio interface? Can I get a simple mic preamp (Art) and take that output and place it in line on the computer by passing usb?

Of course you have muted your mic in the Audio Input, right? - Tom sinc747 attached the following image(s): Mute1.JPG (24kb) downloaded 24 time(s). Mute2.JPG (59kb) downloaded 18 time(s).You cannot view/download attachments. Try to login or register.

Woops...another issue. Although I can hear myself fine with no delay via my mackie mixer, I cannot hear anything else from vmix (Audio files, audio from video, etc..) When I route the audio directly into the mixer I can hear everything fine, but when I then record the entire broadcast, the delay is back on all audio other than the mic. If I silence the input for other audio on my mixer, there is no delay but I can't hear anything. What am I doing wrong? What do you think?
