We have a PTZ which can respond to Pelco and Visca via Serial connection, vmIX has PTZ connection capabilities, but only over IP.
I have a USB to serial adapter which works on a Rasp Pi
I have downladed and installed a couple of serial over IP ultilities for a Raspberry Pi to see if it is possible to send the PTZ commands over IP and have the Rasp Pi pass that on to the serial port.
So far no dice, has anyone successfully managed this?
I want to use the PTZ for a production but its not worth buying a new PTZ for it.

I have got a basic MIDI to PTZ solution I wrote in python, but it means a more complex setup which will be a PITA to set up on site. I thought this might be simpler...
