I have 4 NDI cameras (ptzoptics PT20X-NDI-GY) All poe on gig switch (Ubiquiti UniFi US‑8‑60W)

When attempting to create inputs for these 4 cameras in vmix...vmix crashes.

Hi Pete,

Can you describe the problem in more detail? What error message do you receive and is it occurring
for just one camera or for all?

Also check to make sure the latest NDI HX driver is installed and that the latest firmware for the cameras is installed also.

Driver can be found here:

https://www.newtek.com/ndihx/products/

Regards,

Martin

Another question would be whether you can receive the NDI output from the cameras in other NDI software (eg NewTek's NDI Studio Monitor, or any of my ZEN NDI apps)?

I have updated the firmware on the cameras according to PTZ Optics instructions. I thought I downloaded the drivers from newtek but I'm not entirely sure check that this morning. I am able to get the feed from one camera consistently but none other. When I select the second camera nothing happens and vmix freezes and crashes with no error report. I basically have to close the program and reopen it. I will try out your ndi apps

I've not used these cameras, but I wonder if they all have a standard default NDI name and you then have to set up unique names for each one, which maybe hasn't been done? Otherwise two identical NDI names on the LAN could/would cause problems.

Make sure each camera is correctly set for networking.
At least :
- they must all have different IP addresses
- they must all belong to the same IP range (your LAN) as vMix

Also make sure your network infrastructure (switch, cables and so on) conforms to Newtek's requirements for NDI.

I don't like/use these cams but I know some people are happy with them, I heard the multicast option must be deactivated for NDI...

Guillaume

PS you were asked before if it works with NDI Monitor instead of vMix. Answer questions and check out what's suggested if you want help

Yes, I have them all on the same network range and yes they have unique ip addresses and multi cast is off and still having the same issues. I did not have unique names but just fixed that and still having crashing issues. Even with the ndi tool.

little more clarity I'm able to log into the gui of each of the cameras just for some reason when I try to connect to them it causes the software to freeze.

Have you installed the NDI/HX drivers on the vMix PC?

Naming the cameras fixed my issues. I think I'll let PTZ optic know this since it's not clear in their documentation. Thanks guys for the help.
thanks 1 user thanked Pete for this useful post.
