What is the best video format for vMix when adding videos as a source? Reason I ask is I'm using mp4 encoded source videos as part of a live stream and a full screen out which all seems to be working fine. However in the performance window I see this mp4 source is showing dropped frames under the renderer column but no dropped frames show under virtual or full screen outputs. Any ideas as to what might be happening? Best regards Dave.

My personal preference based on experience is Mpeg2.

High quality and performance with low playback resource usage:

Web Streaming, Big Screens and Non-Broadcast:
MPEG2 4:2:0 HD 1080i 50/60 i-frame only 50 mbps (MPEG-2 420P@HL), with audio @ 384 kbps 16 bit 48Khz Stereo.

Broadcast and Chroma Key Green Screen:
MPEG2 4:2:2 HD 1080i 50/60 i-frame only 50 mbps (MPEG-2 422P@HL), with audio @ 384 kbps 16 bit 48Khz Stereo.

Similar specifications to Sony XD-Cam, wide industry acceptance and compatibility, frame accurate cue-up, low resource usage when editing material and upon playback for transmission. Larger file size than MPEG4 H.264 AVC.

Thanks guys! Much appreciated. MPEG2HD 422 iFrame only 1080@25P looks excellent when projected and no dropped frames. Streaming to FB Live at 2.5Mbps 720@25P at the same time with vMix social pulling in and displaying comments over the projection.
