I have had a few new users get confused when they accidentally start an overlay on a camera/graphic/etc input. They can't figure out why they can't cut to another input. I spent some time searching for a way to do this - that is - turn off the overlay function for any given input. Or, would this be a feature request.

Add a trigger on the input: OnTransitionIn > OverlayInputAllOff

thanks - this works when transitioning from preview to program. What I was looking for was a way to totally turn off the 1 2 3 4 selection so the overly for an input cannot be turned on at all.

You can't and that's the very nature - and the beauty - of vMix where any input can be used for anything. If you don't want this, just use another switcher with the DSK logic which is the traditional (and old fashioned and frustrating) way to do live production. Guillaume

One reason vMix is so good is because it is so flexible. However, I guess this is something that I should not have asked?

or feature request : "a confirmation popup for any action in case of accidental selection" you know like at a traffic light; "are you sure you want to proceed ?"

thanks doggy - vMix is so flexible that I overlooked the overlay settings. This could work for situations where overlays are not needed at all. Otherwise, perhaps a feature request to add a check box under the General input settings to "turn off overlays for this input" may work if adding the code is not to difficult.
