Hi All, Thanks for taking the time to read this. I am having the following issue with two vMix systems. A ridiculously out of date 12 year old quad core Dell and a brand new i7 7700 that replaced it. I am NOT however having this issue when running vMix on an i5 laptop. I set up the shortcut to fade volume properly, using the Find function works great and all seems well. However once I go to use the fader for the first time the movement of it registers in vMix very briefly and then nothing else. After that vMix no longer sees the controller and I have to restart vMix for it to see again. I hope this made a bit of sense, I also made a short video showing the problem if you have time. It's doubly frustrating since it works with the laptop but not two desktops. Thanks again for all those who help out. vMix HD latest version i5 laptop (works) quad core ancient Dell (doesnt work) brand new i7 77o0 on a tuf270 mb (doesnt work)

Quick reply... sounds like a driver issue if the same Korg control and same vMix software are used and the only difference is the PC.

Hi Tom,
Thanks for the reply. Yea I had thought the same thing. Uninstalling reinstalling driver didn't do anything. On the laptop that it is working on , I didn't even have the official driver loaded, just the Kontrol software (which I assume loads driver also), but just installing that and not the driver didn't work on the i7 or old machine either.
HOWEVER, late last night after breaking it the same way as always and then fixing it the same way (unplug/replug device then restart vMix) it started working just fine. All commands are proper and the device does not vanish from system anymore. :/ I'm at a bit of a loss as I had tried that numerous times to no avail. I'm hoping it's not flaky hardware itself.

I hate when that happens... it just works after not working. It might just decide to stop working again. :(
Glad it works now, though.

Well it is still breaking on first use as described in OP .. BUT I have found a fix that lasts as long as vMix is open.
After I try the first fader move and it breaks the connection to the device, if I go into settings > shortcuts > MIDI settings > UNCHECK nanoKONTROL2 > click OK > back into MIDI settings > RECHECK nanoKONTROL2 > OK > OK to exit out of settings, the device acts properly for the remainder of the vMix session.
I did try every driver version on the Korg site for the device to see if there was some incompatibility. That did not fix initial issue.
If this work around fix holds up (so far so good after multiple tests) that's fine, I can deal. But it is odd.

Not much help to you. But I have the same Korg nano controller that does not have these symptoms. Have you tried to swap out the USB Cable or switch ports on the PC?

Hey pilcher, thanks for the response. Yea tried new cables, ports, 2 different computers. I bought the white one because it was almost $15 less than black. Assuming because they don't sell as many? Maybe it's older hardware and flaky? But I can now def confirm that the work around fix I noted does hold for the entire vMix session. Even running over multiple days. Cool little device, I'm having fun with it.

I do have the black one. Maybe that makes all the difference. Hope you figure it out.
