Hello again. I am using older computers(tower and laptop) and I am looking at using some usb 3.0 capture devices and I was just wondering if there are any pitfalls I should know about before I commit to investing in any usb 3.0 devices. Both computers are running Win 7 Pro x64,but the computers do not have any native usb 3.0 components or chipsets on the mobos. Also, the processors are older Intel DuoCore and not any from the newer "i" series.

If anyone can recommend some stable USB 3.0 PCIe adaptor cards and/or ExpressCard/54 adaptors.that would be nice.

Any guidance and insight is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

vidkid

Tower PC:
If you consider PCIe card - why would you want to use USB 3.0? Why not use a "normal" PCIe capture card?

Laptops:
If you have expresscard slot, the ultimate solution is expresscard HDMI capture card like Yuan SC500EC. But if your laptop is underpowered the GPU & CPU will not handle the HD signal properly
