Hi,
I have huge problem and I'm confused. I use vMix 11 for a month now and I had no issues till today.
When I turned on vMix, I noticed that video capture lagging. I checked statistics, and discovered that my BlacMagic WDM Capture has dropping frames. Interesting thing is that I change capture setings from 720p to 1080p (in camera and DecklnikQuad), there is no dropped frames and picture is as it should be. Maybe you can tell me where is the problem?

Which column in the statistics window is showing dropped frames? Can you provide a screenshot?

720p is usually twice the frame rate of 1080p, so if you select 1280x720 it will need to be 50p or 59.94p as the System (Frame Rate)
Also, the frame rate in vMix Settings should also be set to match.

Regards,

Martin

Thanks,

It's showing the frame rate coming in as 50p.
So to have no dropped frames you will need to select 50p when adding the device and also, select 50p as the output frame rate in vMix Settings.
I would also recommend using "Decklink Video Capture" instead of Blackmagic WDM Capture

when I select Decklink video capture, then it show me error. That is why I use WDM capture.
And what is "Use VMR" next to capture selection? When I select that option, then video is ok without dropped frames.
Actually, can you plz tell me the right settings for capturing and streeming 720p (PAL).

Use VMR is for debugging purposes only, so leave it unticked.
WDM Capture has to be used with the settings selected in the BMD Control Panel.
Decklink Video Capture allows you to select the resolution and frame rate in vMix directly/
thanks 1 user thanked admin for this useful post.

valid frame rates for 720p (SMPTE-292M) are 50p and 60p (59.94p)
