Hi Everybody,

I'm kinda "new" to vMix and this forum and I'm seeking some advice and/or recommendations. First off, I'm starting this from the ground up. I have no "real" budget to work with, although I've made a few little investments. All I have are some PCs that I want to utilize until I can get better equipment. this is what I currently have:

- HP 8000 Elite CMT with Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Processor 3.00GHz (Two of these)
- Intel Q45 Express Chipset Motherboard
- 16GB RAM
- Western Digital 500GB HD (7200rpm)
- OS is Windows 7 64-bit
- Video: EVGA GeForce GT 730 DirectX 12 04G-P3-2739-KR 4GB 128-Bit DDR3 PCI Express 2.0 Video Card (COMING SOON it's ordered)
- Capture Card: Blackmagic Design Intensity Pro PCI Express Editing Capture Card (BMDPCB41G1)
- Audio Interface: Lexicon Alpha 2-Channel Desktop Recording Studio
- Camera: Sony HVR-HD1000

At least I know I meet the minimum requirements.

What I like to know is....is there anyone that is starting or has started out similar to this? What was your experience like?
Based on this setup, do you think this will this be decent enough to start out? I'm just seeking some assurance.

I welcome ALL feedback, thoughts, etc.

I appreciate your time reading this!

If you don't have any budget, then test to see how your system handles vMix. I have a system with a EVGA GeForce GT730 which I used for 1 and 2 camera shoots at 720p/59.94. So that graphics card can work.

I just ran a test, using an old laptop (Core2 Duo P9300 @ 2.26GHz) with vMix 16 on it. Using a Sony HVR-HD1000 (1080i), and a Magewell XI100DUSB capture, I could record and stream at 1280x720/29.97, 480p 1mbps stream. vMix CPU was at roughly 47 percent.

The main drawback will probably be your computer CPU power. Core 2 Duo E8400 meets the minimum, but is very under-powered. The HD-1000 can only output 1080i or 480i so make sure to tick the deinterlace box.
