It would be nice if virtual inputs are marked when the main input or any of the derived virtual inputs is in preview or output or overlay

+1, in particular for PTZ control Virtual Inputs.

As we have learned the hard way - it is soo easy to preview/cut to a Virtual Input whos source is Active (in Program). Thus starting am unwanted camera movement in a live source.

If implemented I suggest as a new Option in the Settings menu, and marked with thin line in the top part of the input name.
