We are new to vMix. For evaluation purposes, we installed this on an older Dell XPS with an i7-2600 3.40 GHz, 8 gb memory and an AMD Radeon HD 5670 GPU.

Attached are 4 PTZOptics SDI cameras connected using the recently released NDI licensed firmware. We created a vMix project using all 4 NDI cameras, 2 picture in picture transitions, and 3 title overlays to get a feel for how all of this fits together.

As configured, it works well with one exception: after 10 minutes, CPU utilization more than doubles from 30% to 70%. This happens without doing anything, other than starting up our vMix project and sitting back to watch TaskManager. This is very repeatable including before and after rebooting the PC.

This appears to be a bug, but there may be a very logical reason why this happens. If anyone has any suggestions. I would like to hear from you.

Thanks!

Hi,

You can see a discussion on the PTZ Optics issue here:
https://forums.vmix.com/...aspx?g=posts&t=14493

Along with an updated NDI HX driver that should resolve it here:

Martin - Thank you for your quick response. I downloaded and installed the March 22, 2018 NewTek HDI driver version. So far CPU utilization has remained steady at 30%. I will do more testing starting on Monday. I have also forwarded this info to PTZOptics Tech Support under the open ticket I have with them on a somewhat related issue. Hopefully, they will put some pressure on NewTek tech support to formally release this new driver.

Thanks again!

Brad
