Hi!, I’m a new user of Vmix, I’m trying to configure a system capable of 8x 1080 50p input. I did obsodian with P4000 graphic card for multi stream. Problem i have is, when i try to ingest and compress to mp4 more than 5 streams, graphic card encoding chip is full and it droped frames. Is possible to limit how many streams are encoded with hardware and how many with cpu?. My cpu is enought powerfull for at least 3 streams. Vmix limit to two streams when geforce, i think can be a good feature to set this limit to quadro cards.
In the other part if i want to record with only cpu to light codec, is possible to record different streams to different ssd?. 8 streams to same ssd i think is really too much, and i do not like raid.
Thanks to all!
Jose.

HI !! install NDITOOLS . use newtek codec avi SHQ2 codec 422 https://www.newtek.com/ndi/tools/use SSD for storage !! its a great codec , 100 megabit its 12 megabyte for each feed..... so a good ssd can get very high sustained write values..... no need for raid... its the same codec NDI uses. it works on premiere and fcpx , as long you install the codec on the computer. i have tested with 9 feeds..... and the cpu below 30%..... :) on a dual xeon exacore HP Z600 hope one day this codec goes for a MXF container... to be better fail proof.... :) Best regards, PFBM

30% cpu only?. 9x feeds 1920x1080@50p?.
Actually my problem is with mp4. I have a second computer recording only prores for edit.
If i open two instances i can make it work. But is possible to share blackmagic input between instances?.

9 feeds 25p streaming to facebook and youtube at the same time using nvenc. there is no need to use cpu hog prores..... better use VC3 ( avid DNXHD ) but for multicorder , the newtek codec is way more balanced . it has the same quality as NDI.... its the same codec.... mp4 is a heavy and bad codec .... h264 420....
Cheers,
PFBM

Today I tested this newtek SpeedHQ codec. I tested with a 1080 50p pattern video. I get about 95MB/s for each stream. This is about 800mb/s. My ssd can record 4 stream only. If i record 5 it drop frames. CPU is ok, only 25% with 4 streams. Thanks Jose.
