The image is clearly a mock-up. What's the availability of this device?

Coming Soon! (according to the website)

Tom Sinclair is going to be a BirdDog dealer, so he might know.

It's certainly more than a mock-up - I shot this video of it at NAB. I think BirdDog want to release it with the new firmware that includes NDI decode and Audio Comms, so it's still some weeks away AFAIK.

What are the differences between this and the BirdDog Studio?
No SDI and no cross-conversion HDMI - SDI?

Looks interesting.

It's HDMI-only, which means it's never going to do the twin-channel encoding (of both SDI & HDMI) that is on the firmware-upgrade road-map for the Studio version.
Also, it doesn't have the large tally display of the Studio version.

On the plus side, it's smaller, lighter, cheaper, and will be able to perform an NDI encode or decode function.

It might be available in August (or September...)

All correct! It will also fully support our Audio comms software, and still has PoE.

With regards to the timeline, I can confirm that Mini has been signed off from prototype phase and is now in production, it works and will be available just as soon as we can get them assembled, tested, packaged and wrapped up, still several weeks out but most definitely on the home stretch for release :)
