Is NDI Virtual Input new? I purchased NDI Transmit to bring an NDI source into a video conference solution. But it looks like Virtual Input may solve that as well. Hmmmm.

I just asked this very question to a Newtek guy. Yes, NDI Virtual Input is an evolution of NDI Transmit. He did not say if it's gonna be free or not.

I hope they provide a free (or cheap) upgrade path to the newest version then. I use that application to send an audio channel back to Skype for interviews.

Just got more info about this. Apparently it will be part of the NDI Tools, so distributed for free.

I'm not 100%, but I think that Virtual Input is the same as Virtual Camera which is included in the NDI|HX driver install. NDI Tools and the HX drivers have been combined into a single installer.

And the other very good news is this Windows build for FFMPEG with NDI enabled.

Thanks Kane. I look forward to testing it out. Like I said, I use the NDI transmit application to grab a specific NDI audio channel from Vmix and send it to Skype. I hope that this application will do something similar. We also use NDI between computers for our graphics application. Big NDI fan here.

Some really great additions. Especially with the Studio Monitor, it has really become one of my most used NDI tools.
Is there any smart way of keeping the NDI tools install up to date? Other than manually installing the newest version on each PC. Including an update tool would be really handy.
