I've recently found an issue that I can't figure out. I'm getting glitching audio.

I've got an HDMI camera plugged into my Blackmagic intensity shuttle, and a separate phono input into the same device. (This phono is connected to the output of a physical audio mixing desk).

When I select the audio from the camera input, it works fine. It's the audio from the mixer, as it should be.

But I want to have my audio treated as a separate input, so I created an audio input, and selected the audio from that Blackmagic card.

When I unmute this "Audio In" input, it has glitches.

The audio that's coming into Vmix on an "audio input" channel is somehow clicking/glitching in a low level way. It's not stuttering or anything, but there are these tiny short clicks at random times, even when there is little sound coming in.

The sound is going into a blackmagic intensity shuttle, and using the blackmagic software to record, the audio recorded is clean. The audio going in is definitely clean.

When I use vmix and have the "Audio In" input providing the sound, this glitching is audible and gets onto the recorded output, so it's not just the headphone monitoring (which i could live with!).

Have I got some setting configured wrongly?

Is this the way I'm supposed to set up my audio inputs? Also - when I switch off the video camera, the card seems to go to sleep, which is kind of weird - I don't get any audio coming in either!

Any suggestions?

In the Audio Mix, have you tried disabling Automatically Mix Audio for your HDMI camera/Blackmagic Intensity by turning off the Green/Orange Arrow button as was done in the picture below with Microphone 1(but don't disable the speaker icon)?

There are several ways to bring in audio. Some people use camera audio, others bring it in with a sound device. Whichever way produces clean, well modulated audio is the "right" way for you.

Hi SportsNetUSA - I've tried that, but I'm getting the same clicking noise, regardless of which buttons are active on the camera/Blackmagic Intensity input. Clicks only exist on the "audio in" input.

Also, if I remove the camera input from my list of inputs, the clicking "audio in" input stops working - so it seems that the camera input needs to be receiving something in order to make use of the audio inputs of that device.

It's not a big problem, as I can just make sure I use the audio input of that camera input - but a strange one nevertheless.
