After having gone through the trial period, our organization recently purchased vMix 4k, having found it to be more accomplished than others (i.e., Wirecast, MimoLive, etc.).
Configuring our streaming program, we've only recently began using the Activator functionality to light LEDs on the MIDI controller being configured to change shots. A simple example being that when a button is pressed, switching a camera to air, an Activator is also activated when the camera (shot) goes to "input". This functionality works perfectly when lighting only one LED for each function.
There are, however, instances when we would like to see two, or more, LEDs on a function. An example of this would be when placing a double-box to air (input) we would like it to light two, or more, LEDs, indicating the cameras included in the double-box.
Having created shortcuts and Activators for each of the shots already work fine. However, when attempting to light multiple LEDs things get a bit quirky.
Creating Activators using the same channel only allow the LED to be used for one of the Activators. Using a different channel for each instance of the specific LED that needs to be activated seems to work fine, unless requiring a different activator, using the same LED afterwards. The LED for the item, wherein the LED is already lit, will go out, instead of staying lit.
Apologies for this being so difficult to follow.
To see recreate the issue, create 3 shots (i.e., 1 cameras and a double-box). Then create 3 Activators, of course one must have a controller where LEDs can be activated by the activators. Assign an activator to each of the cameras that light up when that camera is ‘Input’. Assign the third activator to light an LED when it is at ‘Input’. Then clone the third activator and modify it to change the MIDI channel to ‘2’ and assign an ‘note’ value that was used for one of the cameras.
When placing each shot to ‘input’ the corresponding LED should light up. When placing the double-box to ‘Input’ two LEDs should light. However, if you place the camera, whose LED was light when the double-box was placed at ‘input’, to ‘input’ its LED will not light.
I know, clear as mud.
Any clues as to a solution?
[It should probably be noted that the controller being used has only a single color LED capability.]
