Hoping someone can help me with this mystery, on vMix's reference system page, going with their Ruby specs, the CPU only has 16 lanes, but the GPU has 16, and the Blackmagic Deck Link Quad 2 uses 8 lanes. Even the Deck Link Duo 2 uses 2 lanes I believe, this is still more than the 16 provided by the CPU. Am I missing something or does the GPU not use all 16 lanes? Seems most higher end gaming PC CPU's have only 16 lanes. How does this work?

If you only use a graphics card and no other cards, all 16 lanes will be used by the graphics card. If other cards are used, the graphics card will get 8 lanes and the remaining 8 lanes are shared between added cards. 40 lane CPU are available with appropriate motherboard if more lanes are required.

To add to this, the capture card should always go in the X8 slot, which does leave X8 available for the GPU but
remember that it is X8 3.0 for the GPU, and X8 2.0 for the capture, so X8 3.0 is still plenty for 8 camera productions.

(PCIE 3.0 has twice the bandwidth of 2.0)
