Hi vMixers,
I love using datasources, and use it as much as I can get my hands on it, there is however one detail that annoys me a lot on using JSON data sources.
JSON datasources are generally wrapped as an JSON object (my assumption), meaning that the format is something like {...CONTENT...}. HOWEVER - vMix is not currently setup to recognise this as useful content, since it expects an array of objects [{...CONTENT...}].
I therefore propose a change to the way JSON sources are read, enabling JSON datasources to be auto wrapped into an array, meaning that if it is recognised as an object, it should automatically be wrapped with [] to allow the source to be properly read.
This should solve many peoples problems with bringing in JSON datasources to vMix.
Best regards
Jens Stigaard

+100
i can't really use any data source because of the limitations or the time it would take to do a simple read with my setup. man even allowing multiple columns on a single line would be a game changer.
if it follows the .Net format rule it should be {0} {1} etc allowing me to have a few columns read on a single line. now if it can and i'm missing something let me know!
and yeah that JSON issue i hate and can't use any of my third-party tools because of it.

Jens Stigaard Hi Jens Do you know if there has been any movement on this topic? I am not a programmer nor a DB person, but.... I have access to several APIs to retrieve JSON data to populate my graphics. Most of these APIs do not function and I believe it is for the very reason you stated; my data is not formatted in arrays as mandated by vMix. Is there a workaround in vMix to allow me to use this data ? Thanks Whit
