I set my "Streaming" options to YouTube Live, input my Stream Name, and then hit "Stream" (or "Start" from the Streams dialog)... after that, I still have to go to the YouTube "Live Control Room" and click to Start Streaming. Also, I've felt a strong need to click to "End Broadcast" in "Live Control Room" as well... just feels unsettling to not do so when I had to start there.
I'm accustomed to XSplit, where this house-keeping is done for you... when you click to begin streaming in the encoder, it starts the broadcast as well.
Is there something I'm doing wrong, or is this what is intended?
Thank you!
Chad

There is definitely something wrong. I use it all the time and it works flawless. Are you selecting "You Tube Live Stream Now" or "You Tube Live" ? Are you inputting your stream key from YouTube?

Cacooley is right. You are wanting "Youtube Live Stream Now" . Sounds like you are in "Youtube live" which is an event based workflow.

It is my intention to use YouTube Live, not Stream Now. I am inserting the Stream Key, that's how it's able to stream to the Event in which I have to click "Start Broadcast". In other encoders that I've used, I have the option to a) select the already-existing event that I've been advertising for 2 weeks prior to the broadcast, b) to create a new event directly in the encoder (they use the YouTube API to achieve this), or c) to use YouTube Stream Now. In any above case, when I instruct the encoder to begin streaming, it also starts the broadcast without requiring the additional click in Live Control Room.
I think that the additional step and it's required journey away from vMix to YouTube is an unwanted distraction. I just wasn't sure if it was a failure on my part to find some checkbox somewhere like "Automatically Start Broadcast when Streaming".
I hope this makes sense.

That's the way you have to do it with events- no API option to start broadcasting from within vmix.

Thank you... that, I think, validates adding this to the Feature Request Forum.
I appreciate it.
