In fact, it seems like the multi-corder is rather constrained in it's application. AFAIK, it only works with hard inputs like capture cards. It would be great if it worked with a more diverse set of sources.

That was just added in vmix 20. The extra outputs can be configured as any input, in turn you can record these in both multicorder and replay.

I was thinking that NDI sources are available to the multicorder. If not, the free version of Newtek's Isocorder could work as well. I know it's not quite the same thing as the original request but it should work.
