Hi,

When adding an audio input in VMix 20.0.0.27 x64, the audio pitch is shifted downwards. Our field reporter now sounds like Barry White. Which we think is funny, he disagrees.
My analysis is that the selected card is forced to 44.1k and incoming audio is sample rate converted to the master sample rate (in Settings->Audio), 48k in our case.

1. I would like to configure the sample rate of the input card and not have it forced to 44.1k
2. Please configure the sample rate converter to upsample to the master same rate without pitch shifting :)

Thanks,
Martin

AFAIK you can't set sample rates for Audio inputs in vMix. Instead, BEFORE starting vMix:
a. go to Windows' Control Panel, Select Sound, and then the "Recording tab" (or right-click the Speaker icon in the Taskbar notification area)
b. Select the device you want to set and click Properties (or double click the device)
c. In the Advanced tab select the desired Format (e.g. sample rate)

Note, for some devices (e.g. those connected via USB) the Properties are tied to the interface port. That is, if you set the audio format for a USB audio device connected on one USB port, and then move the USB cable to another USB port, you have to define the format for that port too.

Hi,

To ensure the highest quality, vMix will attempt to add all audio inputs with the same sample rate vMix is set to.
As Richard mentioned, if this is not possible, the sample rate specified by Windows will be used.

However the sample rate conversion in vMix does not modify the pitch. If it did moving from 44.1 to 48 would increase
the pitch, so something strange might be happening with that particular audio device, that maybe a driver update from the manufacturer will resolve.

Regards,

Martin

Bonjour,

I have the same problem with a MOTU Ultralite firewire interface...:
- VMix is set to 48k ,
- the Motu is set to 48k but the format of the audio input is set to 44,1 ?
So the sound is pitchdown...

WHat's going on? I can't change the audio setting for this input from 44,1 to 48k ?

I sent a question to the support...

Ronan

Regards from Paris ( France )

NB: my drivers MOTU are uptodate...
