Just tried to update vmix from the vmix console. Got an error saying that vmix could not close all programs. Asked to retry, nothing happened. Asked to abort, then closed vmix. Vmix then listed the version as v20...but failed to open. Vmix became unusable. Had to reset my system and now things are back to ver 19. Any suggestion as to what the problem was?

Hi Michael,
Sounds like a background program was using a component used by vMix. To install, simply restart the computer and once logged in close all open programs including anything open in the system tray like skype, then install vMix again using the installer from our web site.

When I attempt to download and run the new version from vmix website, it asks to install into a "test" directory. Not sure if this is how it goes. Please inform.

Was able to close programs and update from v19 to v20. However, after the update all my bus info was deleted. I then restored to ver19. Lousy update system.

Hi,
Sounds like you may have tried to install to a folder called Test in the past as it will show the directory of the last installation. If you install to the same folder as 19 it will keep all your settings, but you will need to make sure all programs are properly closed before running any updates.

Closed all programs, installed into the test directory listed during the install. No errors about open programs yet all my bus info still doesn't appear. What gives? This is the most problematic update I've ever encountered. Any suggestions?

Just reconfigured my upgrade so it's working properly. Bus selections were never imported when updating.
