Hi, I have 3 videos. Each is of the same music event taken from a different angle. I'd like to use parts of them as inputs.
If I line them up in sync with each other, is there any way I can select one as input and have the other two playing in sync so that I can switch between the videos.
It's not particularly nessasary to have the video's audio, as I have a seperate recording of that.
and of course if that could be done, could someone explain how.
Thanks

You can do it with Shortcuts, two per video input. Perhaps with using Triggers would work better, but I am not well versed with them.
Make sure on each input (gear icon) for the videos to untick "Automatically Pause after Transition". That way the videos will continue to play. You should be able to switch back and forth.

@ MartinJudkins
It may take some "trial and error" to sync them up correctly and get things how you want them, but you should be able to come pretty close. I would find a frame or "Mark In" point (right click play head of video in Preview) that matches for each clip. As SportsNetUSA.net says, create a Shortcut for each Input to "Play" the video. (Settings -> Shortcuts -> Add -> key of your choice (choose from dropdown or use "Find") -> Function: "Play" from dropdown -> Input: respective Video Input) Once you have your three Shortcuts, in order to start them all at the same time, you'll need to go to the Advanced option for one of them. To do this, choose (highlight) one of your Shortcuts from the list you just created and choose "Edit". Select the "Advanced" tab on left menu. Find each of the other Shortcuts from the Dropdown and "Add" them. Done. Now 1 Shortcut will start all three videos from their respective "Mark In" points.
Let us know how you make out!

We had a four projector setup that needed 4 sync playbacks. I did what Ice said and it worked fine, I could even stop start the replays and they kept in sync. They were sourced from an SSD.
You could also try putting the tracks into layers in a multiview composite for a sync roll.

Hey Guys, Your tips and explaination were spot on! Mark-in points and shortcuts worked just fine. Your right that syncin the markin points is a bit tricky but I can deal with that. Cheers!
