Hi all!

We're setting up a live streaming show related to eSports. We've done several events but nothing related to gaming world.

We'll use 4 SDI cameras as we always use but we also need to get into vMix 2x PS4 + 2x Webcam. We use a BMD Decklink Duo 2 for main cameras but we are limitted to up to 4 inputs.

We need a solution to get the 2 PS4 into the computer at full 1080p60 and also the webcams. We thougt about buying two generic gaming USB3 capture devices for the PS4 (avermedia, elgato...).

That makes a total of 8 inputs (4x UBS 4xSDI), the question is: Will our computer (a RUBY system) handle all this load. Is the USB bus strong enough to have 4 USB video inputs 2 of them at 1080p60?

Any tips on the setup?

USB is Not the best Option, and here is why.

You should only have 1 High Speed capture device per USB HUB for it to work properly.

A better solution would be to get either 2 hdmi capture cards and 2 IP cameras instead of Web Cams.

IP cameras are relatively cheap and can be run over longer distances, only drawback is you will need a router or switch.

Howdy,

Assuming your Ruby system uses a z170/z270 Chipset, It shouldn't be a problem to use 2 USB capture devices + 2 webcams.

Alternatively, you can get a dual/quad HDMI pci-e capture card, as it's going to be similar in terms of cost. If you insist in USB, avermedia works just fine too.

Overall, you setup is definitely going to handle it. I've done 100 simultaneous inputs (mixing cards, ndi, videos) in a similar setup.
