I'm pretty new at vMix and I just couldn't find any help regarding this particular topic.

I know how to assess a Hotkey for different functions such as an Overlay. Is there any way, that you can assign a hotkey for editing the scoreboard? For example by pressing the ,-key the score of the home team increases by one, by pressing the .-key the score of the away team increases by one, by pressing the p-key the timer pauses, etc.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance

I learned this earlier when I raised a similar question. In Settings under Shortcuts you can do that. Use the SetText Function on your scoreboard input and select appropriate field.
SetText can be used with a value of +=1 or +=2 etc to add to the existing score.

This was discussed in this thread if you want to read up on it:

Okay, so I get how to increase numerical values using the shortcuts ... what I am wondering is if there is a way to increase a character ...

For example. We record volleyball games. I would like a • to appear indicating what team has won how many matches. Is there a way to do this?

and the keystrokes I used to create the dot was alt+0149

Thanks in advance for any help.

Hi

I do this with vMixUTC from a dropdown menu.
You can see it in this video :
(by 1:35 - here I use this method to indicate how many players are in jail)

I don't know a way to do it with shortcuts only (except by creating a shortcut for each possiblity which might require several keyboards)

dude! Okay, you just blew my mind with this thing...I never heard of the UTC! Is UTC safe and user friendly? I work for a cable broadcast company, and something like this would be amazing if it works good.
and thanks for the quick response.
Josh.

Thanks Josh
UTC is a third party donationware application for vMix specifically designed to handle titles. I love it, it is used by many vMixers mainly for sports titles but much more is possible too. I find it reliable and very easy to use. One of its main interest is the ability to be used from the vMix host itself OR from a remote computer with a dedicated operator.
Here's the link for it: https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=6468
I also maintain a topic to help users to get started using it with tips and demo videos: https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=9393

Give it a try it's worth it!

Besides the command [+/-]=quantity, there are other commands possible to be used in the field Settings-Shortcut-Edit ?

@DWAM

Couple questions about UTC ... can I bring in Excel files and will there be an update to the score to have a +6?

Thanks!

Hi

so far, you can only use XML as a datasource. But you should post your feature request for UTC here:
https://forums.vmix.com/....aspx?g=posts&t=6468

If you need a +6, it's very easy: just create a button widget which passes 2 times a +3 ExecLink to your score widget
When you press this button, your score will get a +6
